Item Description:
Designed and produced in 1955 by Jane and Godron Martz for Marshall Studios. This model was selected by Good Design for an Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in 1955 for new and exciting examples of design for the home. This lamp is in a the matte black finish and is in great condition with no cracks or chips. As with many Martz ceramic pieces, there were sometimes slight variations in the glaze during production. In some lights, sometimes the base appears to be an extremely dark brown, but it is the matte black finish from the factory. Signed by Gordon Martz. This it the ORIGINAL shade so it does have some age appropriate wear including 2 small stains/spots that can be seen in the photos. We decided to keep the shade as many collectors prefer originals which have become extremely scarce. Please see photos for condition and decide for yourself as all sales are final. Thanks!
