Arne Hovmand-Olsen Teak Extension Dining Table for Skovmand & Andersen, Circa 1960s - *Please ask for a shipping quote before you buy.

A stunning oval teak extension dining table designed by Arne Hovmand-Olsen for Skovmand & Andersen in Denmark, circa 1960s. This beautiful mid-century modern piece features a teak tabletop with quarter-sawn or rift-sawn grain, a more labor-intensive and costly option during the mid-century era, prized for its distinctive linear grain pattern.

The table retains its original maker’s label, along with the Danish Furnituremakers’ Control label, a mark of quality associated with fine Danish furniture. Introduced in 1960, this label identified furniture produced by approved Danish furnituremakers.

The table includes two extension leaves that store inside the tabletop when not in use, letting you expand the dining surface while keeping the table’s clean, streamlined look.

This table is sturdy, structurally sound, and has been exceptionally well cared for since new. It is offered in its original, unrestored condition, as we felt the beautiful wood and overall preservation were too good to warrant restoration. The tabletop has held up remarkably well, with only a few minor imperfections. These include one small, light dent and approximately six tiny, round faint dots along one side. We carefully polished the affected area, and the marks are very difficult to see. We have included close-up photographs of these details in the final images for full transparency. The internal wood support that holds the extension leaves beneath the tabletop has a slight dip. This is visible only from the underside and does not detract from the table’s appearance, so we chose to leave it in its original condition. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description. We are happy to answer any questions or provide additional details.

The table is also available to view in person at our local showroom. For more information, please visit our social media page, @coolcatvintage, or see the About section on our Etsy shop or website.
