1950s Heywood Wakefield Desk in Wheat - *Please ask for a shipping quote before you buy.

Available now is a beautiful vintage desk by Heywood-Wakefield, dating to the early 1950s. Constructed from solid birch wood in the maker’s signature wheat finish, this desk combines clean mid-century lines with practical storage and a distinctive yellow faux-wood, durable top that complements the warm wood tones.

The desk features three spacious drawers on the left side and a shallow drawer on the right, positioned above an open area that provides convenient legroom or space for a chair. The piece has been carefully cleaned and polished to refresh the original finish and bring back its natural warmth and appeal.

The desk shows some light signs of wear consistent with its age, but overall, it presents very nicely. Maker’s stamps can be found inside the top drawer and on the back.

We have been unable to locate this particular desk in available online references or the Heywood-Wakefield books in our library. It may have been produced for commercial use, such as a hotel or similar setting, although we have not been able to confirm its original intended use.

Overall, this is an appealing and somewhat uncommon example of Heywood-Wakefield’s mid-century design, offering both character and functionality.

Please take a look at our photos for additional details, and feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!
