Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin Rosewood & Chrome Desk, C. 1969 - *Please ask for a shipping quote before you buy.

Available now is this stunning rosewood and chrome desk designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin, circa 1969. The desk showcases exceptional rosewood grain, with beautifully figured woodwork that makes this piece as much a design statement as it is a functional workspace.

Finished on all sides, the desk was originally designed to float freely in the center of a room, allowing its sculptural form and rich rosewood surfaces to be admired from every angle. The front features three generously sized drawers, while the reverse side carries a similar clean, finished appearance. A substantial polished chrome base provides a strong architectural foundation while keeping the rosewood top front and center.

The rosewood top has been carefully sanded and professionally restored with multiple layers of lacquer, bringing out the depth and character of the grain while providing a durable surface for everyday use. All three drawers operate properly. There is some restoration to the left side of the top edge where damage from a previous owner required a small amount of wood-grain matching. This area is visible in the accompanying images and is worth noting for complete transparency. The back of the desk has a small line in the finish that we left in, as it may have caused more issues with the finish to remove. During our restoration process, we do remove about 90% of imperfections. The chrome base has been thoroughly polished and retains some light age-related patina, adding to the authentic character of the piece without detracting from its overall presentation.

This is an exceptionally handsome example of Milo Baughman's celebrated modernist furniture—beautifully proportioned, highly functional, and equally suited to a sophisticated office, library, or executive workspace.
