This exceptional Antique American Empire rosewood dresser dates to the early 19th century and beautifully exemplifies the bold elegance and craftsmanship associated with the Empire period. Constructed with striking bookmatched rosewood drawer fronts, the piece showcases remarkable rosewood grain throughout, highlighting the quality of the materials and workmanship.

The dresser features finely crafted dovetail joinery, maple-lined drawer interiors, and original-style casters on all legs. Its classic Empire design elements and substantial construction make it both a functional storage piece and a sophisticated statement for any antique collection or interior.

This dresser has been cleaned and carefully restored to revive its original beauty and preserve its structural integrity. While we typically strive to maintain as much original finish as possible on period furniture, this piece required a more comprehensive restoration to bring it back to its full potential. During the restoration process, we typically remove about 90% of imperfections, as to be expected with older pieces they will show signs of wear from age/use. One note on this piece is that there is one small pink-nail-size dent on the top that can be seen in our images. The result is a stunning presentation with a rich, warm finish that complements the dramatic rosewood grain.

All drawers operate smoothly and function as intended. The piece does not include a key; however, we would be happy to recommend a local locksmith who may be able to provide a suitable replacement.

Overall, this is a truly impressive example of early American Empire furniture that must be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
