Broyhill Brasilia credenza in walnut with the signature Brasilia drawer pulls. Made by Broyhill Premier in the 1960s, this piece showcases the best of American mid-century modern design. This credenza has three drawers that open and close as they should in the center and two closed compartments on either side with a half-depth fixed shelf.
What you need to know about this piece: it was restored in-house, we have been restoring Brasilia pieces for over a decade, and we try to match the piece as close to its original finish as possible. The piece was in a smoker's home, and we did work on deodorizing the piece for several months. The piece now does not have a strong smoky odor, but if you are sensitive to smells, we wanted to point this out first. We removed the original finish, and after a lengthy process, we added a new walnut finish. This did come out with a slightly reddish tone to the walnut and does match the original look and feel. The top drawer did have a 2" long crack in the veneer front. We did repair this, and you can see a small line on the drawer front. Please see our last image for more details. Overall, the piece came out very nicely after the restoration, and it is ready for its next chapter.
