Tubular Chrome 3-Seater Sofa with Original Cushions, C.1930s - Please ask for a shipping quote before you buy.

Available now - an older piece from the 1930s, a beautifully restored tubular chrome 3 seater sofa with its original leather cushions. This piece oozes design from every angle. The curves of metal and polished chrome that, after our hard work, look almost like the day it was made. This piece is made up of 3 sections that sit together to make on sofa. The original cushions are, as you would expect, horsehair and a system of springs inside, which was typical of the era. They do show some light fading in parts, but it was worth it to keep them original to the piece. This was in a basement for most of its life, so although we did clean them and air them out they may still share a basement scent if you get close to the seats. The armrests are bakelite and do show some hairline cracks; one was repaired. If you are gentle with them, they should last a long time; if not, they may break and need to be replaced. We wanted to keep the piece as original as possible, so we worked to keep them for the next owner. The armrest can be removed with two screws, and anyone with a 3D printer may be able to print replacements. The piece sits sturdily, and it is surprisingly comfortable. Ideally, this should be shown off in the center of a room as the back is stunning. Please reach out if you have any questions, and thanks for looking!
