Danish coffee table by Poul Jensen for Selig, circa 1960s. This table was manufactured by CFC Silkeborg of Denmark and imported by Selig. It is an original Poul Jensen design with a true surfboard shape and lipped edges, which sets the piece apart from other similar Danish designs. The tabletop is walnut wood, and the edge banding, legs, and frame for the self are afromasia teak wood. This table sits sturdily and can easily be taken apart for shipping. The Tabletop was stripped down, sanded to remove imperfections such as large scratches and cup rings. Then, a durable finish was applied to bring out the original look while providing a surface that will hold up to use. The canned shelf does have 2 or 3 small breaks that are hard to spot, and a few of the edges on the underside have cracked. The shelf is holding up well for its age, so we decided to leave this as is. It works well, and if cared for, it will remain for many years to come.
