Item Description:
Here is a nicely preserved walnut slat coffee table made in Yugoslavia, circa 1960s. This piece is in good original condition with minimal wear from use and age. This table has two U-shaped legs, one on each side, with the slats being off-center. The piece oozes mid-century vibes from every angle. One end of a single slat sits a fraction in from the rest on one side, this can be seen in our images. It may have been a repair by the original owner at some stage that was not completed correctly. We glued and clamped the legs to ensure they are all sturdy, and we added a small piece of metal to the underside to ensure the slats do not separate down the road. We cleaned the original finish, and it came out looking great. Overall, this piece is in good condition for its age, and it is hard to find a piece of this quality today. The piece does retain its original label that states "Made in Yugoslavia". It was common toward the end of the 1960s for US companies to have products made overseas and shipped back to the USA, and this is a good example of this work.
