Item Description:
Here is a very nice set of 4 antique American mahogany gondola chairs, circa 1815-1835. Constructed from solid mahogany and mahogany veneer on the backrests. Each chair has been professionally reupholstered at some stage in its lifetime and the seat lifts out without any screws from the chair frame. The chair frames are in good condition considering their age with some signs of wear from age and use with some professional repairs completed over the years. All four chairs sit sturdily and the upholstery is in good clean condition on each chair. One of the chairs does have a differently shaped silhouette backrest and there is a slight difference on the back where the chair meets the seat, otherwise, the design is the same as the other 3 chairs.
