Item Description:
Here is a very nicely preserved king-size headboard by Heywood Wakefield for their Cadence line, circa 1955. This headboard is finished in the Cadence line's original Sable Grey finish. This piece features built-in nightstands with tambour doors on each side. This headboard splits in the center also allowing for two extra large twin beds to be attached which put together creates a king bed. This listing is for a headboard only. There is a small bit of wear on the top of the left nightstand that can be seen in our last images otherwise this piece is in good condition for its age. "In 1955 Heywood Wakefield began experimenting with new styles, materials, and finishes in the Modern line, which were similar to those being used by other contemporary furniture manufacturers.
