*Because the cost varies with an item's weight, size, and destination, we can't provide a firm and fixed price quote for shipping in the shipping estimate calculator in this listing. Please provide us with your zip code and we will find a competitive shipping quote for your area. If you are happy with our estimate just let us know and we will add this cost to the listing for online checkout. If requested, our shipping estimate will be for a door-to-door blanket wrap or white glove shipping service. Delivery times vary depending on how fast we can find a shipper and how well-traveled certain areas are. We do not recommend Freight service for transporting larger pieces but these are options for smaller pieces of furniture.

Item Description:
Here is a stunning and very well-preserved teak wall Royal System by Poul Cadovious of Denmark, circa 1960s. Originally designed by Cadovios in 1948 and purchased in the early 1960s by its original owners where it has been since new. This wall unit attaches directly to a wall with 4 solid teak wall brackets, this system allows for each shelf and each box to be placed where you decide it should sit. Design the layout yourself and keep everything in one neat place of the floor. In the Royal System wall unit, every piece is 31.5" wide and this unit comes with 2 large boxes, each fitted with a lock and key system (we have both keys). One box has a cast iron built-in wine rack that can hold 8 bottles along with 2 shallow dovetail drawers to hold servingware. The 2nd box is divided into 2 sections with each section having 2 cast iron dividers to hold your favorite vinyl collection. There are 8 shelves all 31.5" in length but 5 shelves are 13" deep from the wall and 3 shelves are 9.75" deep from the wall. This piece also comes with one larger angled shelf for displaying your magazines or books. This Royal System has very little damage from use, the top of the wine storage box has some very fine light scuffs in one spot where a photo frame sat for many years and one of the deeper shelves was restored and shows very little signs of wear now. Usually, the corners on these pieces were banged or dented over the years but this system shows very little signs of that type of wear. All of the wall brackets are in great condition, one had a small chip pinky nail-sized chip that does not affect the stability or look and we will show that in our last image. Every piece is stamped "Made in Denmark" which is the normal marking for this unit and the larger pieces have a remnant of the original paper label left. We gave this entire piece a thorough cleaning and polishing to ensure it is ready for its next life. Overall this piece is in good condition and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for looking!

The Designer:
Poul Cadovius (1911 - 2011) - was one of the most colorful and successful persons in the history of the Danish furniture industry. He was originally educated as an upholsterer but became very interested in design at an early stage, and in 1945 he established his own furniture manufacturing company Royal System. A few years later, in 1948, he designed the iconic shelving system ROYAL SYSTEM®, followed by the award-winning SYSTEM ULTRA® in 1957 and SYSTEM CADO® in 1960. All three systems were based on a groundbreaking wall-mounted shelving concept, where the idea was to move the furniture off the floor onto the walls, leaving more space in the room. - Ref: dk3.dk
