Item Description:
Here is an absolutely stunning teak tambour credenza with a glass front hutch top by Bernhard Pedersen & Son of Denmark, circa 1960s. The credenza has two very nice tambour doors on the front which operate very smoothly and when both doors are opened they reveal 3 small drawers in the center of the credenza and a large compartment on either side. Inside the credenza are 3 height-adjustable shelves which can be seen in our photos. The glass front hutch top has 2 height adjustable shelves (one on each side) and offers lots of room for displaying your favorite pieces. The glass doors on the hutch top are newly cut glass for this piece by our local glass company and they are an even better fit than the originals. This piece does have a stamp from the maker on the underside of the credenza. We did clean this piece inch by inch to save the original finish as best as possible, the piece does show some very minimal signs of use which can be seen in our last few photos. The very top of top piece was sanded down and restored to match the rest of the piece. The two solid teak blocks that hold the top piece in place were altered slightly by the original owners, the original owners removed the hidden reset metal connectors or latches and used nails to hold the teak blocks in place. We replaced these nails with sealed screws from the top downwards into each block to stabilize the piece and give it a cleaner look. This can be seen in our last photo. We also completed some minor repairs to each block which can not be seen from the front of the piece. Overall these repairs do not alter the stability, look, or feel of the piece but we wanted to point them out in advance of purchase. The piece is finished on the back so it could float in a room or be used as a room divider. Overall this piece is in good restored condition and please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions - thank you!
