Description:
Here are 4 beautiful Danish teak ladder back dining chairs Model name “Lis” by Niels Koefoed for Koefoed Hornslet, circa 1960s. These chairs are streamlined, comfortable, lightweight, and sit surprisingly solid. Designed in 1961 (see more information below) and manufactured from teak wood. All 4 frames are in good original condition and we did give them a light polishing to bring back their original glow. All 4 chair seats have their original black Naugahyde fabric in exceptionally good original condition. This set of 4 dining chairs is in very good condition and all chairs are signed by the maker.

More information on Koefoed dining chairs:
In 1964, Koefoed designed the modernist Eva Chair, which featured three vertical slats on the backrest, and was produced by Koefoeds in a choice of teak or rosewood. Eventually, rosewood was phased out, and replaced by cherry. The Eva Chair was part of a series of three dining chairs, the other two being the highly organically shaped Ingrid Chair (the 1960s) and the ladderback Lis Chair (1961), all of which are believed to have been named after important women in Koefoed’s life, Ingrid being Koefoed’s daughter. The Peter Chair (1957) is thought to have been named after his son.
